George King's Obituary
George E. "Maverick" King, age 71, of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Community Health Partners, Lorain.
He was born on January 12, 1938 in Burnside, Kentucky. He grew up in Elyria and also resided in Painesville, Ohio. He made Lorain his home for the last 35 years.
Mr. King worked as a drywall hanger for Tyler Finishing Company in Perry, Ohio for 40 years.
His hobbies included fishing, gardening and playing poker.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Meo); his daughters, Kimberly (Mohamad) Arafat, of Baltimore, MD, and Pleshette Renee King, of Fairport, OH; 2 step-daughters, Laura (Terry) Trigalet, of Lorain and Sandra Stokley, of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dean F. King, in 1996; his parents, William and Irene (nee Carrander) King; his brothers, William and Robert; and his sister, Geraldine Hyduke.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst.
