Georgie Ann Smith's Obituary
Georgie Ann Smith, age 69, of Avon Lake passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was born on January 12, 1952, at home in Chester County, Pennsylvania to Robert E. and Leah Pauline Smith.
She was a graduate of Midview High School and went on to further her education at Lorain County Community College and Bowling Green State University earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was employed by St. John Westshore Hospital for over 20 years and retired at the age of 65.
Georgie was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake. She enjoyed gardening, reading, taking long walks, and spending time with her dog.
She is survived by her son Corey Smith; brothers, Robert L. (Rita) Smith, Charles W. (Melody) Smith, Harry E. (Joan) Smith, and Dale L. (Melissa) Smith; and her stepmother, Carol A. Smith.
Georgie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E., and Leah Pauline Smith; and her sister, Diana Cillo.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio. Private interment will take place at a later date.
