Georgina Morales' Obituary
Georgina Barbosa Morales, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the age of 88. She departed peacefully at her daughter's home under the loving care of New Life Hospice.
Georgina was born on February 15, 1935, in Lares, Puerto Rico, to Marcial and Francisca Barbosa. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, contributing her melodious voice to the choir.
She was renowned for her green thumb and the exquisitely tended roses that bloomed in her garden, a testament to her passion for gardening. Her interests extended to knitting, crocheting, and dancing, activities she relished with joyous enthusiasm. Georgina's culinary talents were legendary, as she delighted in preparing meals not only for her family but for all who crossed her threshold, embodying the essence of hospitality.
Her compassion knew no bounds, extending her care and support to everyone she encountered. Georgina was a beacon of love and kindness, treasuring her family above all. Her infectious laughter and playful jokes endeared her to many, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion survived by her children: Laura (Irving) Serrano of Lorain, Amir (Pilar) Morales of Tampa, FL, Heidi (Dave) Sayre of Amherst, Anthony (Connie) Morales of Orlando, FL, Sol Maria (Pastor Mark) Hebebrand of Lorain, and Maxine (Sanjay) Morales of Bay Village. Georgina also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings,Delia, Blanca, Elifardo, Wilfredo, Ernesto, and Concepcion “Maggie”.
Georgina was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Manuel Rosario Morales, in 2011, and siblings, Irma Sofia, Liduvina, Maria Erenia, and Crispiniano. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Georgina's life at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, December 11th, from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Reverend Father William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will take place at 12:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
