Gerald Buzard's Obituary
Gerald Delwin Buzard, age 80, of Elyria, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
He was born on January 9, 1936 in Madison Township, PA, and moved to this area in the early 1960’s. He graduated from Rimersburg Union High School in 1953 and then attended the Pittsburgh Aeronautic Institute. Gerald worked for Curtiss Wright, NASA, and S.G. Morris as a hydraulic sales engineer, retiring from S.G. Morris in 1999.
Gerald was a member and Past Master (1971) of Midcentury Lodge #725 F&AM, where he received his 50 year pin earlier this year. Gerald was also a member and Past Potentate (1989) of Al Koran Shrine. He was a past Commander of the Vermilion Power Squadron. In his free time, Gerald enjoyed boating and traveling.
He is survived by his daughters; Brenda (Jeff) Bommer, of Avon, Karen (Brian) Michael, of N. Ridgeville, and Kathie (Rich) Gallo, of Valley City, and his two grandchildren; Jason Bommer and Brittany Gallo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Bessie (nee Thomas) Buzard, his brother, Roger, and his sister, Maureen Kunselman.
The family will receive friends for both Masonic and memorial services on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Westlake United Methodist Church, 27650 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 pm and a memorial service will follow at 7:30 pm, with Rev. Mollie Brown, Pastor, officiating . The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, is assisting the family with arrangements.
