Gerald "Jerry" Kremer's Obituary
Gerald W. “Jerry” Kremer, age 75, of Amherst passed away November 23, 2017 in Miami, Florida. He was born on September 20, 1942 in Buffalo, New York to Adam and Gertrude (nee Schwanekamp) and graduate from Bishop Timon High School in 1961.
Jerry enlisted with the United States Air Force on October 13, 1961 as an Airman First Class and was honorably discharged on July 1, 1965.
He worked as an Air Traffic Controller in Oberlin from 1967- 1981, worked for several different car dealerships as a car salesman, and worked as a case worker for the Social Security Office from 1991- 2002.
Jerry was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Eagles, The VFW and the Amherst Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling and cruising, and volunteering his time at the Amherst Historical Village.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marianne (nee Fuchs); sons, Stephan (Kristina) Kremer, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Markus (Niki) Kremer, of Shorewood, WI; grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Jack and Addison Kremer; siblings, Noreen Farrell, of West Seneca, NY, Edward Kremer, of Buffalo, NY, and Mary Stone, of Akron, NY.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Jerry to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Funeral services will be held at a future date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Rittman, OH
