Gerard "Gerry" Notley's Obituary
Gerard “Gerry” Notley, 74, of Lorain, OH, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Cleveland, OH, after a brief illness. Born on March 2, 1951, in Elyria, OH, to the late Richard M. and Gertrude (née Manlet) Notley, Sr.
He retired from U.S. Steel after 43 years of dedicated service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with his coworkers. A true Cleveland sports fan, Gerry never missed a chance to cheer for his hometown teams—especially the Cleveland Indians. He also had a passion for music and could recall trivia about old bands with ease, often outsmarting even the biggest music buffs.
Gerry enjoyed traveling with his longtime partner of 35 years, Elaine Campana, and was known for his love of shopping—particularly when it meant finding something special for someone else. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life.
He is survived by his loving partner, Elaine Campana; children Josh Notley (Brandy), Jacob Notley (Yukino), and Maggie Gross (Mike Shaw); grandchildren Arashi, Camden (Cameron Dumais), Joseph, and Baylor; stepchildren Gina Campana (Jeff), Nikki Campana (John), and Tom Campana; 11 beloved step-grandchildren; brother Robert Notley (Anne); and sister Sally Beles (Robert). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard “Dick” Notley Jr.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4–7 PM, with a service at 7 PM at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. In lieu of flowers, please support your local restaurants, breweries & food trucks, and tip your servers!
