Gregory Ganobcik's Obituary
Gregory A. Ganobcik, age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Kingston of Vermilion. He was born on November 17, 1929 in Lorain, Ohio to Emil and Agnes (nee Banacke) Ganobsek.
Greg enlisted with the United States Air Force on October 16, 1951 and was Honorably Discharged on July 28, 1955.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Parish, Lorain and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst.
Greg led an adventurous life. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and swimming. Extremely artistic and talented, he enjoyed painting, sketching and drawing.
He is survived by his son, Stefan Ganobcik, of Sheffield Village; brothers, Emil Ganobsek Jr., of Lorain and Richard (Lynn) Ganobsek, of Fruitland, Florida; sisters, Elaine Rock, of Lorain, Jeanette Ganobsek, of Lorain, Roseleen Priesler, of Parma and Diane Trebonik, of Mansfield.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Agnes Ganobcik; brothers, Eugene and Dennis Ganobsek; sisters, Mary Louise Lynch and Kathleen Ganobsek.
The Ganobcik family will receive family and friends on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon. Rev. Fr. Richard Hudak, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Greg to St. Anthony Church or St. Anthony Adoration Chapel.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center.
