Hazel Yacobozzi's Obituary
Hazel A. Yacobozzi (nee Deidrick) passed away peacefully at her home the evening of August 25 with her her husband, Enio of 65 years at her side. An honor graduate of Amherst High School's class of 1939, Hazel was also a member of the National Honor Society and the former Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary Drill Team #46. She and Enio entered into the sacrament of Holy Matrimony on August 2, 1947. Enio and Hazel owned Yacobozzi Plastering, Inc. for 19 years, where she served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. After Enio's retirement, Hazel worked for the Lorain County Commissioners as Fiscal Officer in the Lorain County Office on Aging until 1988 when they relocated to central Ohio to be closer to their children. She was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church, Hilliard, Ohio, St. Brendan's Seniors and Bereavement Committee and the Public Employees Retirement System.
Hazel was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Allen Yacobozzi (of Tampa, Florida), in 2009; her parents, John and Agnes Deidrick and her 5 brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Enio; daughters, Kathleen Ann (Yacobozzi) Cassandra of Powell, Ohio and Lori Ann (Yacobozzi) Dulin and son-in-law William Joseph Dulin of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Meghan Travis (Thomas), Meredith Cassandra, Molly Cox (Kevin, Jr.), Michael Cassandra, Rocco Yacobozzi, Rachel Yacobozzi; great-grandchildren, Giuseppe Petrella, Lucy Cassandra, Cameron Travis, Josephine Cox, Benjamin Travis; special "daughters", Mary Ann Liberator and Eva Yacobozzi; treasured caretakers and friends, Roxanne Thompson and Karen Frazier; many nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
The Yacobozzi family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said on Thursday, August 30th. at 9:00 a.m. in the Funeral Center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
