Hazel Young's Obituary
Hazel Marie Young (nee Kirk), age 75, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side, on Friday, August 19, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
She was born on January 16, 1936 in Middleton, Tennessee to the late Lennie Palmer Kirk and Clara Kirk (nee Hathcock). She has been a resident of Vermilion since 1960. Marie was a member of Reeves Methodist Church in Middleton, Tennessee.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking and traveling with her husband. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 51 ½ years, Charles; her son, Scotty, of Sheffield Lake; her grandchildren, Eric "EJ" Strick, Allison Young and Corey Young; and her sisters, Mary Knight, of Cardova, TN and Pat Hill, of Norfolk, VA.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kelly Looks in 2005; her sister, Madge Bell and brothers, William, Fred, and Troy Kirk.
The family invites friends to join them for a memorial gathering on Monday, August 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. in The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Rev. Heidi Strickler, Associate Pastor of Harbortown Community Church in Vermilion, will officiate.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Reeves Cemetery in Middleton, Tennessee.
