Helen Bors' Obituary
Helen V. Bors, age 93, a lifelong resident of Lorain County passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1919 in Lorain, Ohio to Frank and Mary (nee Kurtz) Kerecz.
Helen made her career as a hardworking waitress, working for over 20 years at the Evans Grille, in Lorain. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria. Helen was an extremely faithful women, she was the perfect example of following God's teachings always showing love and forgiveness. With her huge heart and her love of cooking and baking she welcomed everyone in her home and took great pride in taking care of all of those who entered. Besides, baking and cooking (especially Hungarian dishes) she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. By far her family was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Kathleen) Bors, of Vermilion and Charlie Bors, of Elyria; daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Darryl) Cassidy, of Vermilion, Rosemary (Chet) Ziniewicz, of Spencer, Christine Bors, of Lagrange and Mary Lou Bors, of Elyria; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Chuck Kerecz, of Lorain.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bors; daughter, Patricia Marie Bors Pavlich; brothers, Paul, Frank and Steve Kerecz; and her sister, Mary Olah.
The Bors family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria. Rev. Fr. Donald Dunson, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
