Helen Prieto's Obituary
Helen Prieto, age 85, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center.
She was born on May 21, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio to Louis and Anna (nee Sienkowski) Delestathis and attended Lorain High School.
Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and MACC, the Mexican American Citizens Club.
She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, playing bingo and Canasta. Helen’s family was her life and everything she did was for them.
Helen is survived by her children; Sal (Pamela) Prieto, Rita (James) Pysarchyk, Marie Prieto, Sandy (Florian) Paul, Susan Prieto , and Michael Prieto; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Prieto; parents, Louis and Anna Delestathis; sister, Georgia Bailey; and her brother, George Delestathis.
The Prieto family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, following the visitation closing prayers will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
