Hilarie Peck's Obituary
Hilarie Howe Peck (Sloan)
On December 24, 2022 Hilarie Peck, lifelong Ohioan and loving mother of two, passed away at the age of 67 in Apex, North Carolina.
Daughter to the late Howard and Virginia Sloan, Hilarie was the second youngest of 5 children. She was an open ear for her family and friends and her brother and sisters will continue to reminisce about her creativity, spice for life, and tender heart.
Graduating in 1973 from Lorain High, Hilarie called Lorain her home for 66 years. Hilarie was a stay at home mom, caring for her two children, Elliott and Emily. She loved watching Elliott play soccer and attending Emily’s dance competitions throughout the years. In the early 2000’s, she began a new career as a medical transcriptionist. She started her own business and eventually led the transcription team for the Comprehensive Pain Care Center in Lorain, Ohio where she retired.
Hilarie had a true passion for life and living every moment to the fullest. She would never miss a day in the pool, an afternoon in the sun, or a moment to get on the dance floor. She also enjoyed attending local festivals and loved watching live music with her late partner, Joe Sheffield. Her crafting and decorating brought every season and holiday to life within her home. Hilarie is survived by her two children, Elliott and Emily. She will be remembered as an incredible mother to her children, grandmother to her 3 grandchildren, aunt to many nieces and nephews, and sister to her 4 siblings.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
