James L. Browning's Obituary
James L. Browning, age 75, of Lorain passed away unexpectedly at University Hospital in Cleveland on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
He was born on February 4, 1942 in Madison, West Virginia to Lonnie and Mcemsee Browning and graduated from Sharples High School in 1960.
At the age of 17 James felt a calling to become a minister. In 1982 he established the Believer’s Spoken Word Tabernacle in Sheffield, Ohio serving as the Senior Pastor.
In his younger years he enjoyed gardening and fishing. He also and enjoyed computers and traveling to Amish country with his wife Patricia.
James loved people and helping others who were in need. He was a true prayer warrior with extreme empathy and compassion for the sick. His family was his world and nothing brought him greater joy than the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; sons, Jerry (Mina) Browning, of TN and Samuel (Kim) Browning, of Lorain; grandchildren, Jessica (David) Horner, Jonathan (Karisha) Browning, Lydia (Seth) Roberts, Nathanael (Lydia) Browning, Paul Browning, Benjamin Browning, Zachary Browning; adopted grandchildren, Madison Browning and William Browning; great-grandchildren, Ally, Liam, Michael, Charlotte, Rosalina, Caroline and Amelia; brother, Robert Browning; sisters, Patty Gillies, Linda Cavillo, and Kim Sanchez.
The Browning family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park
