James R. May's Obituary
James R. May, age 70, of Lorain, lost his battle at Mercy New Life Hospice on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was born on December 10, 1951 in Alliance, but lived most of his life in Lorain and is a 1970 graduate of Lorain High School. He was employed at Ford Motor Company for many years before retiring 10 years ago due to medical issues.
James was a proud and devoted member of the Lake Erie Moose Lodge #552. He was a past governor serving multiple times as well as serving in various other capacities in the Moose, including being a dedicated ritualist. In addition, he earned his Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1986.
He always looked forward to and enjoyed his many gambling trips he took with his wife and adored his grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
James is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Vickie (nee Priebe), sons; James May, Jr. and Bobby Green, daughters; Melanie May Ducharme and Stacey (Kevin) Green, 4 granddaughters; Caitlyn, Brittany, Gabriella, Emma, 3 grandsons; Jacob, Noah, and Lukas, brother, Thomas (Ruby) May, and nieces & nephews; Megan, Michael, Angie, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his father, James E. May, in 1986, mother, Doris (nee Beckett) May Mcauley, in 2011, and a brother, Dennis May, in 2012.
The family will be holding a celebration of James’ life on Friday, May 27th, 2022, from 6 – 9 pm at the Amherst Eagles, 1161 Milan Avenue, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
