Nobody knew just what wonderfulness he offered. "Just Out Of Love, From His Heart". He offered protection.... Silently! I truly LOVE this wonderful man!!!! With ALL of my heart, and with ALL of my soul!
I LOVED HIM SO much! He Always treated me, Like I was HIS girl. I cryed so hard, last week... When I learned that he was gone. No wonder, I have not seen my great buddy!!! I will NEVER forget a true awesome man
I was shocked to hear the passing of Jim. He had a heart of gold and I could always count on Jim to put a smile on my face. My family loved JIm, Lonnie spoke highly of Jim and my mom would light up when ever Jim was in the room, he always made her laugh. Growing up I can always remember going to lunch at Danny Boys with Chief Hall, Lonnie and Jim, he was always great to me and defiantly one of my favorites. I thank him for his loyality and service to The Amherst Police Department. Rest in peace Jim you will be missed.
Jim was a very special person. He always made you feel important and was always upbeat. He surely will be missed especially in Amherst with his great smile. May he now Rest In Peace. We love you Jim!!!!

DEAR FAMILY, OF JIM MCCAN. Jim MCCan was the type of person who cared about everybody, who would take his own shirt off his back for his family and for complete strangers but in a fashion of second nature. I know he loved kids and he was always trying to point them in the right direction of life. He was always a joy to be around and had excellent wisdom. I can honestly say I have never seen him mad or put anyone down. He always managed to keep people on thier toes around him, with pranks or just simply kidding around with you. Mr. James MCCan was always the best company a person could have. God Bless and Rest in Peace.
We sure had a lot of good times back in th 70's amd 80's. You will always be remembered in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow!!!
