James Newsome's Obituary
James Newsome, age 75, of Elyria passed away at his home January 14, 2017 due to a short illness. He was a retiree of the Lorain Ford Motor Plant since 2001. He was a loving husband, father, papaw and friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline (nee Reynolds) Newsome; two daughters, Sondra (Mike) Bruce, Lolita (Dave) Watring; son, Greg (Monica) Newsome; seven grandchildren, Amber, Shaun, Craig, Trevor, Alexia, Xander, and Logan; siblings, Marlene (nee Newsome) Howell, of Craynor, KY, and Curt Newsome, of Greenwich, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Newsome; mother, Haley (nee Jones) Newsome; five brothers, Eugene Newsome, of Clyde, OH, Grady Newsome, of Clyde, OH, Burnice Newsome, of Craynor, KY, Paul Newsome, of Teaberry, KY, and Gary Newsome, of Craynor, KY; and one sister, Phillis Jean Tackett, of Bowmen, KY
The Newsome family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18th. at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by interment at Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of James to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
