James Earl Pullin Jr.'s Obituary
James Earl Pullin, Jr., age 73, of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Friday, December 17, 2021.
He was born on January 2, 1948 in Gallipolis, OH. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. James then went to work at US Steel as a burner for 31 years, finally retiring at the age of 55.
He was a wonderful grandpa and will be dearly missed by his beloved grandchildren. James was unique to say the least. He did what he wanted, when he wanted. He was a stubborn as they come but he had a kind heart. Later in life, he became very sentimental, visiting his mom every day when she was still alive. He spent time visiting people (sometimes random strangers) and liked to tell stories. He was always worried about Barb and who was going to take care of her when he was gone. And he liked to try and make people laugh with his unusual sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Jone (nee Balmart) Pullin, his step-son, Ron Dvorscak, of Lorain, his beloved grandchildren, William Michael Adorno, Jazmine Faith Adorno, Destiny Victoria Adorno, and Jonathon Edward Dvorscak, and his siblings, Howard Edward Pullin and Shirley Ann Schulick, both of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl, Sr. & Annabella (nee King) Pullin and brothers, Larry and Roy Gene Pullin.
The family is having private services. The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, is assisting the family with arrangements. To send an online condolence, please go to www.dovinreberjones.com.
