James "Buddy" Temple's Obituary
James C. “Buddy” Temple, 83, of Amherst, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, exactly 33 years to the day of the passing of his son, Andrew C. Temple. Born June 22, 1942, in Natchez, Mississippi, to the late Ford and Oneta Temple, Buddy was the beloved middle child of three sons. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Raymond (Jeannine) of Florida and Michael Douglas (Sharon) of Arizona.
After graduating from Marion L. Steele High School where he played varsity baseball and basketball, Buddy proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in England, where he met the love of his life, Mary (Maisie) Behan. They were married in December 1963 and returned to Amherst in 1965 to build their life together.
Buddy worked nearly 40 years at the Ford Motor Company as a data processing engineer before retiring. A lifelong athlete and competitor, he was the ace pitcher for the London Rockets, played baseball for Bob Feller, and enjoyed golf, darts, and time spent outdoors. He was a proud member of the Amherst Eagles, VFW, and American Legion, and could always be found sharing laughter and stories with friends.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Andrew Temple; and his nephew, David Temple.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maisie; daughter Rhonda (John) Neuhoff; grandchildren Emily (Brandon) Mead and Tyler Neuhoff; brothers Charles and Michael; niece Linda (DJ) Kyles and nephew Greg (Venus) Temple.
Buddy will be remembered for his quick wit, gentle heart, and steadfast devotion to family, friends, and community.
