Retirement didn't mark the end of Jim's working days. He pursued a new chapter as a traveling salesman for Resco Refractory, showcasing his relentless work ethic. When he finally decided to hang up his hat for good, he found joy in spending time with his horse, riding and even introducing “Bo” to children at a local school.
Jim was a pillar of the community, dedicating 25 years of his life to being a Boy Scout leader in Amherst and coaching little league football for his boys. His advocacy extended to the Murray Ridge School, where he devoted an impressive 40 years supporting in any way possible and serving on the board as President for 9 years. Jim was also a staunch supporter of the Special Olympics, embodying a spirit of inclusivity and compassion.
He took great pride in his involvement with the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard team, even serving as a trustee of the American Legion Post 118.
