Jane Fawks' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Fawks, who peacefully passed away at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, Ohio, at the age of 87. Jane was born on November 8, 1936, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to Dean and Mary (nee Shick) Smith.
A dedicated and compassionate soul, Jane embraced a career as a Registered Nurse, a profession that was more than just a job to her; it was a lifelong calling. She served diligently at St. Joseph Hospital and concluded her impactful career upon retirement from Lorain Community Hospital in 1997. Her commitment to caregiving and healing touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on her community.
Jane cherished moments of connection and valued time spent with her beloved family. Her warmth and love knew no bounds. She was a beacon of light, always ready to engage in meaningful conversations and create cherished memories with her loved ones.
Jane leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her sons: Ernest (Lori) Fawks of S. Amherst, Christopher Fawks of Lorain, Daniel (Liz) Fawks of Show Low, AZ, and Thomas (Emily) Fawks of Sheffield Village; her daughters, Wendy Rivera of Oak Harbor, and Bonnie Toothman of Elyria. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Stephanie, Christa, Janice, Christina, Jessica, Sophia, and Ben.
She is fondly remembered by her siblings: Mary Lou Murphy and Rita Misner of Pennsylvania, and Susan Smith of Florida. Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Ernest, her parents, Dean and Mary Smith, and her brother, Joe Smith.
