Janet Bodi's Obituary
Janet Bodi (nee Drozdowski), age 73, of Lorain passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Metro Health Hospital, in Cleveland following a brief illness.
She was born on November 7, 1943 in Lorain, Ohio to James and Henrietta (nee Kufel) Drozdowski and graduated from Lorain High School.
Janet worked for many years at Tony’s Meat Market in Lorain. She then went on to work at Convenient Food Mart on Colorado Ave. in Lorain and then went on to work for Apples Grocery Store in Sheffield Lake for 8 years as a deli clerk and assistant manager.
She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church in Lorain and was now attending the Church of St. Peter, Lorain and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain.
Janet was a very talented cake decorator and made numerous wedding cakes. She also enjoyed crafting and especially loved making wreaths. She had a generous heart and was always there to help others. Her family was the center of her life and nothing brought her greater joy then the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John; sons, Stevan (Michelle) Bodi, of Elyria, Mark Bodi, of Lorain, and Michael( Micah) Bodi, of Columbus; daughters, Marie Bodi, of Lorain, Elizabeth Bodi, of Avon, and Chistine Bodi, of Lorain; 12 grandchildren; brother, James (Cheryl) Drozdowski; sisters, Patricia Drozdowski, and Cynthia (Bradley) Burks; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Drozdowski.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, James and Henrietta Drozdowski; step-mother, Melazyn Drozdowski; and her brother, Richard Drozdowski.
The Bodi family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Wednesday, February 8th. at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Janet to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
