Janet Willie's Obituary
Janet G. Wille (nee Grutzner), age 82, of Medina, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 31, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Carl and Fredea (nee Doering) Grutzner. She lived in various cities in New York and St. Louis, Missouri before settling in Medina.
Having earned her Master’s Degree in Education, Janet worked in her early years as high school math teacher. Later she stopped teaching and took pride in her career as mother and homemaker. Janet was an active member of Living Word Church in Medina.
She enjoyed oil painting, and enthusiastically did needle point and crochet. She also enjoyed spending time boating.
She is survived by her sons, Carl (Debbie), of Amherst; and Thomas (Cecilia), of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Kevin, Johnna Nicole, Trisha and Trina; her great-grandson, Liam; her sister, Carlyn Sampson, of North Dakota and nephews and a niece.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Francis J. Wille, Jr., this past February 5, 2011.
A double committal service for herself and her husband’s cremains will be held sometime this spring at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. (A date and time will be announced in the future for those wishing to attend.)
The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4500 Rockside Rd., Suite 440, Cleveland, OH 44131.
The Wille Family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Visiting Angels of Medina County for their commitment and compassion to Janet; to the knowledgeable Doctors and Medical Staff of Medina Hospital; to Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, for being a wonderful care facility; and to New Life Hospice for the peaceful end of life care.
