Janice Roseann Costello's Obituary
Janice "Jan" Roseann Costello, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2025, at Wesleyan Village in Elyria, Ohio, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Born on July 14, 1938, in Lorain, Ohio, Jan was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander Abraham and Eva (nee Tokarczyk) Jacobs. She was a proud graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1955, and went on to enjoy a fulfilling 20-year career at Sam’s Club, where she was known for her hard work and warm personality.
Jan found joy in the simple pleasures of life—dancing, sharing laughter with friends, and spending treasured moments with her family. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and love into her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick J. Costello I; loving daughters, Jolene (Mike) Norman and Tealla (Dave) Berman; daughter-in-law, Karen Costello; seven cherished grandchildren; six adored great-grandchildren; and her dear sister, Toby Detillio Rieth.
Jan was preceded in death by her beloved son, Patrick Costello; her parents, Abe and Eva Jacobs; and her precious great-granddaughter, Layla Rose Norman.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date to honor Jan's life and legacy. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center.
