Janice Knoefel
Barb, Cec, Tommy, Terry, Martha and family, I have a wealth of memories of your Mom and Dad, and each one of you too. From having Martha come visit Barb at ODC on little sister weekend, to visiting Cec and family in Dayton, Florida and Colorado, with Terry and Tim visiting our apartment in Columbus, staying at Jean and Joe's house the evening before Barb's wedding, and being amazed that little Tommy was working at the Pentagon, the memories remain. Barb and I were on our way out the door to visit the Jaeger family cottage on Lake Erie when the dean of Ohio State called to ask me if I wanted to join the Medical School class of '77, even though they had been is session 2 weeks already! I said yes and was able to be housemates with Barb for another 3 years. The Yaeger/Girz family has been interwoven with my life since 1968. With the loss of Joe and now Jean, it is the passing of a generation, but not the memories.
Jean was the first professional woman, wife and mother I ever knew. She made a big impression upon me as a young woman, with many expectations of me from my family and many dreams of my own. She inspired me, opened up alternative possibilities that what I had known. The kindness, love and acceptance by the whole Yaeger-Girz family will long be remembered, and appreciated, love to all, Jan Knoefel
