Jean Louise Gladish's Obituary
Jean Louise Gladish, age 83, of Lorain passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 15, 1930 in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania to George and Sara (nee Sewalt) Long and graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1948.
Jean worked as a secretary for many years at First Lutheran Church in Lorain and then went on to become the secretary at Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church for several years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics and reading and was known for her wonderful sense of humor and wit. Jean was an excellent listener and a good friend to all.
Jean is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard C. Gladish; daughters, Karen (Larry) Turner, of Lorain, Sharon Gibson, of Vermilion and Diane (Donald) Hans, of Lorain; grandchildren, Jessica (Ron) Myers, Jon Turner, Angela (Anthony) Gibson, Scott Gibson Jr. Christopher (Hanna) Gibson, Melanie (Alan) Larkins and Craig (Lindsey) Jordan; great-grandchildren, Corey and Owen Larkins, Jon Turner Jr., Anthony Faiken and Elijah Gibson; sister, Doris Taylor, of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sara Long.
A memorial service will be held for Jean on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH. Rev. Jimmy Madsen, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate.
