Jean Marie Stransky's Obituary
Jean Marie Stransky (nee Zaworski), age 71 of Amherst passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center, in Lorain.
Jean was born on April 11, 1946 in Lorain, Ohio to Dr. Dominic and Vera M. (nee Lauer) Zaworski and graduated from Brookside High School. Upon her high school graduation she attended Akron University and Lorain Business College.
She worked at American Greetings for several years and for her brother, Dr. Daniel Zaworski, in his Medical office.
Jean was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Amherst. She enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks, cooking and watching the many cooking shows on television, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. She also enjoyed gardening and had quite the “green thumb”.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edward; son, Brianand his wife, Laura (nee Burke) Stransky, of Raleigh, NC; grandson, Gabriel; brothers, Dr. Daniel Zawoski M.D., and David M. Zaworski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Stransky; son, Scott Stransky; parents; Dr. Dominic and Vera Zaworski; brothers, Dr. Donald L. Zaworski, DDS, and Richard Zaworski; and her sister, Joan M. Tubbs.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Saturday, December 23rd. at 8:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Rev. Father Timothy O’Connor, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
