Jeanne M. Provenza's Obituary
Jeanne M. Provenza (née Antonelli), age 81, of Avon, formerly of Lorain, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake after a battle with a lengthy illness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and church.
Jeanne was born on September 16, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Cleveland Heights. After marrying her beloved husband, Ken, they made their home in Lorain, where they spent the majority of their lives together. About 10 years ago, they moved to Avon.
Jeanne found solace and strength in her faith, and she was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. Her dedication to her church community was a reflection of her deep-rooted spiritual connection.
Family was of utmost importance to Jeanne. She shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with Kenneth, and their bond was a source of inspiration to all who knew them. Jeanne was a loving and supportive wife, and her commitment to her family was unwavering. She was a guiding light to her sons, Michael (Pamela) Provenza of North Ridgeville and Joel (Kimberly) Provenza of St. John's, FL. Her grandchildren, Alexander, Isabella, Gabrielle, and Vittoria Provenza, brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Jeanne's love extended to her siblings as well. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers, Robert Antonelli, Patrick Antonelli Jr., and David Antonelli, and their connections brought richness and warmth to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick, Sr. and Leondina (nee Capretta) Antonelli.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A prayer service will be held on Friday, at 10:15 am, also in the funeral center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow, at 11:00 am, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Thomas Sanders, OSB, will be officiating.
