Jeannine B. Barnes' Obituary
Jeannine B. Barnes (nee Ferguson), age 82, of Sheffield Village, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic, Avon.
She was born on March 10, 1939 in Lorain, where she lived most of her life until moving to Sheffield Village in 1981. She is a graduate of Lorain High School. Jeannine worked for Invacare for 8 years. After employment there, she went to work for the Ulmer& Berne Law Firm in Cleveland as a receptionist and switchboard operator, where she worked for many years until she finally retired.
She was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, where she also volunteered for their summer camps, their food pantry, as well as their clothing drives. Jeannine was also a member of the Sheffield Historical Society for a few years. She enjoyed crocheting, especially the blankets she made for everyone. She liked to cross stitch and sew as well. Jeannine was happy to be outdoors, particularly when working in her garden. She had a soft spot in her heart for babies and absolutely loved animals, even being one that would go out looking for strays to care for.
Jeannine is survived by her husband of 64 years, William F., her two daughters, Susan (Kent) Klingshirn, of Medina and Shelley DeAngelis, of Sheffield Village, her beloved grandchildren, Genesis Guzman, Keli Klingshirn, Justin Klingshirn, Ryan Klingshirn, Jessica Musgrave, and John Michael DeAngelis, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, her sisters, Shirley Morano, of Lorain, Ruth Dominick, of Avon, and Sharon Stager, of Lorain, and her sister-in-law, Sandra Barnes, of Rocky River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Geraldine (nee Sharkey) Ferguson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
