Jeffrey Powe's Obituary
Jeffrey W. Powe, age 39, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday September 2, 2009 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on August 19, 1970 in Lakewood, Ohio. Jeffrey was employed by the City of Bay Village as a service laborer. He attended Brookside High School and while at Brookside attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School. He continued his education in machine repair and received his Journeyman's card.
Jeffrey represented fun times and enjoyed being around people. He was kind hearted and a joy to be around. He was a sports enthusiast and his hobbies included camping, hunting, golfing and playing cards.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Charlene (nee Ackley); Parents, Thomas and Carol (nee Grove); Brothers, Scott (Natalie) Powe and Michael Powe; Nephew Anthony Powe; Father and mother-in-law Dennis and Deborah Ackley; Brother-in-law, Richard Ackley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lester and Helen( nee Hornyak) Grove; William and Lillian (nee Bouhall) Powe.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1100 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Pastor Dennis Sauer of Open Arms Christian Community Church in Sheffield and Rev. Father Matthew Ischay of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Cleveland will officiate.
