Jeffrey C. Ross' Obituary
Jeffrey C. Ross, age 57, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully and with his family by his side, on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
He was born on March 21, 1960 in Pontiac, MI, and moved to Lorain in 1967. He was a proud 1978 graduate of Clearview High School, where he lettered in Varsity Football and Wrestling, and competed in Competitive Weight-Lifting. Jeff was employed at Securitec as a lead fire alarm installation technician since 2010, and was also the owner of Ross Security. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Jeff was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he enjoyed helping others maintain their sobriety. He loved music, especially when he was playing. He was known for being an accomplished bass guitar player, playing with several bands; Zoo Station, Ted’s Delicious Gravy, and Out of Dodge. Jeff truly enjoyed his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends as well.
He will always be remembered best for his fun-loving and out-going personality. He enjoyed making people laugh and having fun, and his smile was contagious to everyone around him.
Jeffrey will be dearly missed by his children; Nathan (Jessica) Ross, of Oberlin, Ashley (Russell) Hamner, of Vermilion, and Adam Ross, of Lorain, his grandchildren; Olivia Romes, and Kaiden and Karaline Hamner, his parents; Wayne and Joan (nee Richards) Ross, a sister, Lisa (Jeff) Zimmerman, of Delaware, OH, and his nephews; Nick (Chasity) Zimmerman, Kellen, Nolan, Dan, and Ryan Zimmerman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21, from 4-8 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where his funeral service will also be held on Thursday, at 10:00 am. The Rev. Rich Henry, Pastor of Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
