Jeffrey J. Van Almen's Obituary
Jeffrey J. Van Almen, age 61, of Lorain, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his home.
Born on August 30, 1953 in Canton, Jeff graduated from Eastlake North High School. He came to the Lorain area in the late 1980’s and has resided here since.
Jeff served in the US Marines for 2 years.
He worked as a sous-chef in the Canton area, and most recently did retail work at Kmart in Elyria.
He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his sons. In his younger years, he enjoyed to swim.
Jeff is survived by his sons, Christian, Connor and Jacob; his parents, William and Dorothy Van Almen; his brothers, William Jr., and Philip; his sister, Mary Jean Van Almen; and his former wife, Mary Van Almen.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Elizabeth and his sister, Joanie Van Almen.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, March 27th at 9:30 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio. (Please meet at cemetery entrance)
The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, handled the arrangements.
