Jesse N. Faria's Obituary
Jesse N. “Pucho” Faria, age 65, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at UH Elyria Medical Center, Elyria, on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
He was born on June 22, 1952 in Lares, Puerto Rico and moved to the Lorain area when he was just a few months old. He was a 1971 graduate of Southview High School, then, he proudly served his country while drafted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Jesse is a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. He worked at both the Steel Mill and for Invacare. He would dry wall, do electrical work, mechanical work, and everything in between. Jesse truly was a “Jack of all Trades.” His best job was being a professional babysitter, which he excelled at rather quick.
Jesse enjoyed working on cars, playing corn hole, and canoeing. What everyone knew him best for was his warm and heartfelt personality. He radiated love to anyone around him. Whenever anyone needed to just talk, he was always there to just listen. He was good at giving advice when asked for too.
Jesse will be dearly missed by his wife of over 20 years, Kimberly J. (nee Phelps), his children; Jessica (Jose Negron) Faria, of Lorain, Jesse (Nicole) Faria, of Lorain, his stepchildren; Tammy (Danny) Akers, of Amherst, Melissa (Adam) Dunbarr, of Oberlin, and Jessica (Jorge) Gonzalez, of Louisville, his 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his siblings; Ramon, Jr. (Edna) Faria, of Lorain, Eddie Faria, of CA, Carmen (Jose) Mendez, of Lorain, William (Lynn) Faria, of Akron, and Maritza (Ray), of CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ramon and Margarita (nee Soto) Faria and his brother, Roberto Cruz.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4 – 8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, from 8:30 am until the time of Mass at 9:30 am. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Military honors will be conducted at church, immediately following Mass.
