Jesse G. Rangel's Obituary
Jesse G. Rangel, age 73, a lifelong resident of Lorain passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
He was born on August 4, 1941 in Lorain to Jesse and Katherine (nee Wagner) Rangel and graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1959 B. Jesse served in the United States Air Force as an Airplane Mechanic, and was Honorably Discharged in 1965.
Jesse was employed as a Chemical Operator with BF Goodrich for 15 years. He was an avid reader and served as an usher at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, where he was a member.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Knights of St. John, United Polish Club, PACC, PLAV, Mexican Mutual, VFW, AMVETS, the American Legion, NRA and the Lagrange Hunt Club. He was also a Hunter Safety Course Instructor.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda (nee Gruszka); sons, Doug (Denise), of Sheffield Village, Daniel, of North Ridgeville, Dennis (Dawn), of Wellington, and Jason (Myra), of Altamonte Springs, FL; grandchildren, Andrew, Doug Jr., Alyssa (Neil), Diante, Allison, David, Solomon, Solana, and Ellianna; great-grandson, Grant; brother, Randy (Loretta) Rangel; sisters, Barb Knitter, Kathy (George) Gonas, and Marci Ksiazk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Katherine; his sister, Cyndee Pena; and brother-in-laws, Richard Ksiazk and Tom Knitter.
The Rangel family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Tuesday, July 21st. at 10:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. John Retar, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
