Jim M. Long's Obituary
Jim M. Long, age 94, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, September 28th, 2023.
He was born on May 27th 1929 in Lorain, where he lived most of his life until moving to Florida in 2018. He worked as a draftsman for ADI for many years before retiring from there. He was a member and life-long Elder at Christian Temple in Lorain. Jim was an avid golfer and tennis player, which he continued to do into his 90’s. He also enjoyed roller skating and was a remarkable artist.
He is survived by his sons; Jeff and Dennis Long, 3 grandchildren; Christina Meier, Coury Rehm and Jennifer Nutzell, 2 great grandchildren; Abigal Meier and Xander Nutzell, his 2nd wife, Mary (Seidel) Long, stepdaughter, Shari Hiller and stepson Scott Zietlow. He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred & Laura Long, 1st wife, Mary (Facsko) Long, a son, Jack Long, brother, Mack Long and his sister, Mildred Hellinger.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. His funeral service will be on Thursday, at 11:00 am, also in the Funeral Center. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
