Joan Gallo's Obituary
Joan R. Gallo (nee Finlayson), age 72, a resident for the past 45 years of Avon, Ohio, passed away on Friday April 2, 2010 at Fairview Hospital after a 15 year long battle with cancer.
Joan was born on April 25, 1937 in Lorain, Ohio to William and Mary (nee Findley) Finlayson. She was a 1955 graduate of Lorain High School.
She was a homemaker. Joan loved reading, cross word puzzles, traveling, casinos, animals and classical music.
Joan is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Richard E. Gallo; sons, Richard W. (Kathie) Gallo, of Valley City, Oh. And Thomas A. Gallo, of Avon, Oh.; a granddaughter, Brittany Gallo, of Valley City, Oh.; brothers, James (Pina) Finlayson, of Lorain, Oh. and Claire (Stella) Finlayson, of Lorain, Oh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary (nee Findley) Finlayson.
The Gallo family will receive friends on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Oh. 44001 where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
