Joan Marie Lappe's Obituary
Joan Marie Lappe, 78, of Lorain, OH formerly of Cranberry Township, PA passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025 after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 4, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John and Marie (nee Dlacich) Zaha.
Joan is survived by her son, Bernard John Lappe (Monica), 2 grandchildren, and her sister Deborah (John) Vermillion and their 3 sons Chad, John Jr., and Josh Vermillion. She was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Tuite.
Joan was a member of the Cranberry Township Elks Lodge #2249 and was devoted to her Catholic faith, attending mass regularly. She had a passion for life, enjoying playing golf and tennis in her younger years, and had remarkable artist skills, creating many beautiful still art creations throughout her life. Joan dedicated many years of her professional life to serving as an administrative assistant for the State of Pennsylvania, followed by a similar role at Aetna Insurance, from which she later retired.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St Joseph Dr, Amherst, OH 44001. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

She leaves behind a legacy of caring for others throughout her life and will be missed by those closest to her.
