Jodi Horinek's Obituary
Jodi Rae Horinek (nee McGinnis), age 48, of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at St. John West Shore Hospital following a lengthy battle against breast cancer.
She was born on January 9, 1962 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School in 1980.
Prior to her illness with cancer, she worked at Fligner’s Market in the bakery.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lorain before its closing. She was also a member of the Lorain County Red Cross Disaster Team and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Lorain.
She enjoyed playing bingo and knitting. Having a passion for dolphins, she had a figurine collection of them.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Horinek, Sr.; 3 sons, William D. Horinek II, stationed with the US Army in Ft. Lewis, Washington, Joseph P. Horinek, of Elyria and Charles William Horniek, of Lorain; 3 granddaughters; her parents, Ray and Sandra (nee Lanning) McGinnis of Lorain; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Ragnoni, of Lorain; 2 brothers, Ray B. McGinnis, Jr. and Mark McGinnis; her sisters, Kathy Lee McGinnis-Chesnick and Lori McGinnis-Beecher, all of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family invites friends to join them at a celebration of her life on Friday, October 29th from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst.
