John Film's Obituary
John Fitzgerald Film, age, 48, of Vermilion passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 8, 2012. He was born on December 6, 1963 to Edgar and Therese Film in Canton, Ohio.
He was a 1982 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He was employed by 540 IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) for over 25 years. He was recently employed as an electrician by US Steel, Lorain.
John was a hard working man. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a great leader, leading by example. He always helped out whenever needed. He set out to achieve his dreams. John was captain of his boat the "Film Crew" and captain of his family. He had a great sense of humor, always laughing and enjoyed cooking on the grill and watching the Browns.
He was a member of 540 IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and the US Steel Union.
John is survived by his wife of 9 years, Sandra (nee Feldscher); son, John Fitzgerald Film Jr., of Malvern, OH; daughters, Patricia Kathleen Film, of North Canton, OH, Maria Frances Moore, of North Canton, OH and Amanda Nicole Film, of Vermilion, OH; grandson, Mathias E. Moore; parents, Edgar and Therese Frances (nee Welsh) Film; brothers, George (Halina) Film, Jeff (Jennifer) Film and James Chris Film; sisters, Frances Miller and Anne (Todd) King; aunts, Cecelia Boylan and Sally Feidler; uncle, Pat Welsh; 16 nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Joan Cook; sister-in-law, Peggy (Jerome) Vargo; brother-in-law, Scott Cook.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Rev. Fr. Joe Mamich, of St. Joseph Church, Strongsville, will officiate. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends after the service is complete from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. in the funeral center.
