John J. Frisina's Obituary
John J. Frisina (Johnny) went to be with Our Lord on March 20, 2015. John lived well at his home and chose to go to Mercy New Life Hospice Center nearby only four days earlier. John was born to Giovanni and Rosa and raised in Meadville Pa., ninth in order and last surviving of eleven children with five brothers and five sisters.
John proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War ll. He was stationed with the anti-aircraft guns on Brown Sea Island in England, landed on the Normandy beaches the second day of D-Day, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and went on to liberate Europe, including the concentration camps, and helped to keep our country free. John was a true patriot and loved America! John and his wife Martha Jane (M.J. Larson) came to the Lorain area to work with a local construction company, made their home and raised their children James and Kathleen in Amherst. After a few years, John operated his own construction business and mastered his craft as an Operating Engineer.
John is survived by M.J., daughter Kathleen Nord (Richard), his loving Tomcat Tommy and countless wonderful nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by son James and grandson Ethan Cavalier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, 200 St. Joseph Dr. at 11:00 am. Gathering will begin at 10:30 am. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst, Ohio 44001, Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, Ohio 44053 or a favorite animal rescue organization.
