John C. Koval's Obituary
John C. Koval was born on March 17, 1933 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to loving parents John and Pauline Koval. He passed away May 10, 2018.
John was a teacher with Lorain City Schools for 27 years and served as Fiscal Officer for Amherst Township for 32 years. He was a life member of OEA and a founding member of LEA-R. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, Ohio.
John served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania, then known as California State Teachers College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Richard Metzler; nephews Michael and Jason.
He is survived by his wife Lena (nee Nuccetelli); son Patrick, Frederick, Maryland; daughter Colleen, Arlington, Virginia; grandson Daniel, Catonsville, Maryland; sister Marlene Boyd (Edgar) of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio.
Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Joseph Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, Ohio on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Celebrant will be Father Timothy J. O’Connor, Pastor. Burial will be in Pennsylvania.
