Dr. Jorge T. Froilan's Obituary
Jorge T. Froilan, age 88, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on February 17, 2018.
He was born on February 22, 1929 in Catbalogan, Samar, to Antonio and Julia (nee Teoco) Froilan. Jorge, and his late wife, Mary Lou (nee Smith), lived most of their lives in Lorain. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1984 until being honorably discharged in 1987. Jorge earned his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas, the Philippines. He specialized his practice as an Otolaryngologist, commonly known as an Ear, Nose, and Throat physician. Jorge was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter’s Parish in Lorain and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed attending medical meetings at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain with colleagues until he relocated to Maryland to be closer with family. In his earlier years, he looked forward to family camping trips, skiing and fishing.
Jorge will be dearly missed by his children; William S. Froilan, of Columbus and Julia Ann Hobson, of Silver Spring, MD and his grandchildren; Andrew Froilan, of Baltimore, MD, Christian Hobson and Caitlyn Hobson, of Silver Spring, MD.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou, in 2016.
The family will receive friends for a gathering and celebration of his life on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001.
