Dr. Josef K. Korinek's Obituary
Dr. Josef K. Korinek, age 74, of Lorain passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain after a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 15, 1942 in Prague, Czech Republic to Josef and Marie Korinek. Josef received his Medical Degree from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
Dr. Korinek came to the United States in 1968 and practiced medicine in Nashville, TN, Chicago, IL, Rochester, MN, and Houston, TX. In 1987 he came to Lorain, Ohio to join Dr. Florencio Yuzon in his private practice and with Lorain Mercy Regional Medical Center. He retired in October of 2016.
Josef was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and the American Medical Association. He enjoyed reading, traveling and photography.
Dr. Korinek is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eva (nee Adamek) Korinek; and daughters, Anna (Nick) Summers, and Kristin Korinek; sister, Hana Person, of Germany; and his niece, Helena Person, of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Marie (nee Randa) Korinek; and his brother-in-law, Svatislav Person.
Private family funeral services will be held.
