Joseph F. Ceh's Obituary
Joseph F. Ceh, age 88, of Amherst passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
He was born on August 13, 1926 in Lorain, Ohio to Louis and Mary (nee Bezak) Ceh and graduated from Lorain High School in 1944.
Joseph enlisted with the United States Army and served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the second highest military award that can be given to a member of the United States Army.
Upon returning from serving his country, Joseph went on to work at Thew Shovel Company for 30 years. In January of 1973 he purchased Broadway Feed and Pet Supply, which he owned and operated for 32 years until in closing in 2005.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst and enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening.
Joseph is survived by his children, Patricia (William Leonelli) Ceh, Michael (Christine) Ceh, Jeff (Aida) Ceh and Jonathon (Helen) Ceh; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, in 2005; parents, Louis and Mary Ceh; and his sister, Mary Burton.
The Ceh family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst where Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
