Joseph "David" Jarnigan's Obituary
Joseph “David” Jarnigan, Sr., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020.
He was born on February 8, 1950 in Lorain, where he lived his entire life. He is a 1969 graduate of Admiral King High School. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served from 1970 until being honorably discharged in 1972. After his discharge, David went to work as a welder for US Steel for many years before retiring from there. He was a hard worker and enjoyed cars and motorcycles.
David is survived by his daughters; Shawna (Leon) Duncan and Cara (Steve) Casteel, his son, Joseph D. Jarnigan, Jr., his 6 grandchildren; Ariel, Micheal, Mikayla, Louie, Alaina, and Jace, his great grandchildren; Destiny, Alexus, La’nya, Jariel, Mercedes, and Levi, his brother, Johnny Jarnagan, and sister, Florence Apple.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Theodore and Leona (nee Graham) Jarnagan, a brother Ted Jarnagan, and nephews, Mark Jarnagan and David T. Apple.
The family will receive family and friends for his burial service at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, on Friday, January 8th, 2021, at 1:00 pm. The Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, is assisting the family with arrangements.
