Joseph J. Lacinak Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph J. Lacinak, Jr. of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at the age of 74.
He was born on July 25, 1947, in Cincinnati, OH. Joe was a long-time resident of Vermilion, Oberlin, and most recently resided in Amherst.
Joe graduated from Archbishop McNicholas High School in Cincinnati and received his bachelors degree from University of Cincinnati.
Joe was a lifelong salesman. He spent the past 20 years of his career as a realtor with Russell Realtors and previously owned and ran his own business, D. King Sales.
Throughout his life, he was a devoted member of the Catholic church.
Joseph was a member of the Vermilion Fish & Game Club, the Amherst Eagles, as well as the Knights of Columbus in Lorain. He also enjoyed being a spiritual counselor at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
He was always the life of the party. He loved going fishing, singing, shooting, and traveling. Joe was a collector of various things and always had an appreciation for trains, clocks, old cars, and pocket watches.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara I. (nee Lyon) Lacinak; children, Jacob Lacinak, Julia (Ryan) Jasko, Tara Lacinak, Will Lacinak, Aidan Lacinak, Bridget (nee Andrews; Daryl) J Lahti, and Amy Beth (nee Andrews; Nathan) Herman; grandchildren, Joey, Travis, Everette, Catherine, Clara, Isabella, Daniel, and Caroline; and his former wives, JoAnn (nee Milliser) Lacinak and Beth Barber.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. Lacinak Sr. and Elizabeth (nee Huffman) Lacinak; son, Joseph J. Lacinak III; and siblings, Rosemary, Joanne, Betty, and Midge.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral Mass at 11:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 46 East Main Street, Wakeman, OH 44889. Rev. Fr. Ron Brickner, Pastor, will officiate. There will be a celebration of Joe’s life following his Mass, which will be held in the church’s social hall.
