Josephine Speckhart's Obituary
Josephine A. Speckhart (nee Gambis), age 96, of Lorain passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home under the care of New Life Hospice.
She was born on March 24, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to Steve and Anastasia Gambis. Josephine graduated from South Amherst High School. She retired from Lorain County Community Hospital.
Josephine was a longtime member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain, the Amherst American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 118 and the Amherst Eagles. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, crocheting, and playing cards, especially Texas Holdem and Bridge.
She is survived by her son, Steve (Marie) Speckhart, of Arizona; daughters, Sandra Vaughn, of Lorain, Janet (Mark) Diso, of Vermilion, and Sally Cornwell, of Amherst; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Steve J. Speckhart, in 2011; parents, Steve and Anastasia; and her sisters, Estelle Szurpicki, and Joan Park.
