Joshua Allen Smith's Obituary
Joshua Allen Smith, 23, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2026. He was born on June 13, 2003, in Westlake, Ohio. Josh graduated from Brookside High School in 2021 and was employed by North Coast Marine Construction. He was baptized at Journey Church in Avon and found comfort and strength in his faith and enjoyed spending time reading Scripture.
Josh had a bubbly, energetic, and funny personality. He had a special way of lighting up every room he walked into and bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. Josh was exceptionally loving and caring, with a heart full of kindness. He found joy in being outdoors, playing and watching sports, and doing anything that made him and others smile. His laughter, warmth, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Above all, Josh loved his son, his fiancée, and his fluffy companion, Pandora.
He is survived by his loving mother, Jennifer Smith (BJ Rauscher); cherished son Grayson Colt; fiancée, Abby Davis; siblings Haileigh Smith (Jason Shawver), Aydan Smith (Aryanna Rivera), Emma Rauscher, and Anna Rauscher; grandparents Robert and Michelle Woods and Matt Kreager (Kathy); great-grandparents Donna Woods and Jack and Earlene Ison; aunts Jamie Minnich (Justin) and Katie Woods (Miguel); uncle Matthew Walker (Aurora); as well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his grandmother Janie Ison-Smith; and great-grandparents Charles Woods, Evelyn Cuthbertson, Clyde Sharkey, and Shirley Sharkey.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst.
