Joyce Ellen Lazevich's Obituary
Joyce Ellen Lazevich, age 83, of Lorain, passed away peacefully while under the care of Mercy New Life Hospice and her granddaughter, at her granddaughter’s home, on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Joyce was born on July 22, 1940 in Lorain, Ohio and is a 1958B graduate of Lorain High School. After high school she attended and graduated from nursing school which led the way for her being a Registered Nurse and case manager for many years at Mercy Regional Medical Center. Joyce was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lorain.
She loved being a grandmother and equally was the best one to say the least. She also enjoyed watching her favorite movies, which were always the ones with her favorite actor, Errol Flynn, as well as dancing. Joyce was a good cook, but always enjoyed it even more when she had her Elvis music on while doing it.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Jeffrey Orozco) Lazevich, her 3 beloved grandchildren; Alexis (Jaira Starkey) Lazevich, Brandon Lazevich and Alyssa Lazevich, and her sister, Jane Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis R. and Helen (nee Skolnicki) Szalay, her brother, Richard Szalay, and her former husband and best friend, Carl Lazevich just this past May.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
