Joyce M. O'Neal's Obituary
Joyce M. O’Neal (nee Bittel), age 69, of Elyria, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
She was born on October 5, 1947, in Cleveland and was a long-time resident of North Ridgeville and Elyria. She was a graduate of Valley Forge High School and a parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church.
For 15 years, Joyce worked for the Cleveland Clinic being the first voice you heard, as a phone operator. Prior to that, she worked at the Animal Clinic Northview for 15 years. She was also proud of her years that she worked for CBS Records.
Joyce was a very creative and artistic person. Her artistic abilities shone through her drawings and the nail art she was able to create while being a nail technician. She adored animals, but above all, cherished her family and every minute she was able to spend with them.
She will be dearly missed by her 3 daughters; Dawn (Todd) Church, of Strongsville, Danielle (Eric) Dick, of North Ridgeville, and Jessica (Rohn) Whitman, of Elyria, her 4 granddaughters; Alyssa Church, Samantha Church, Alexandra Dick, and Kassandra Whitman, 2 sisters; Dorothy Nieberding and Carol Fitzsimmons, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Beatrice (nee Knittel) Bittel, and her brothers; Robert, Roy, and Hank.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 13, from 5 – 8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private family services will be held on Thursday.
