Judith Pelter's Obituary
Judith Lenore Pelter (nee Wiegand), age 75, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center, Lorain.
She was born on October 29, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio to Aldwin and Marguerite (nee Leckey) Wiegand and was a 1954 graduate of Lorain High School and the Oberlin School of Commerce.
Judith made her career as a secretary working at US Steel and St. John United Church of Christ, in Lorain, where she was an active member, participating as a Sunday School teacher, the Board of Christian Education and a member of the choir. She enjoyed doing cross stitch, reading, cooking and music. Her most cherished time was the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Gary S., of Lorain, Tim J. (Kelly), of Streetsboro and Thomas C., of Lorain; grandchildren, Jake Waldon and Racheal.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Glen, in 2010 and her parents, Aldwin and Marguerite Wiegand.
The Pelter Family will receive family and friends on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Philip Kunz, Pastor of St. John United Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
